Bethel Park's Carter a top boys sprinter
Bethel Park's Shakeil Carter is one of the top sprinters in the WPIAL. The reigning bronze medalist in the WPIAL Class AAA 200-meter dash (22.54 seconds), Carter entered the week with the sixth-fastest reported time in the event so far this season among WPIAL Class AAA male athletes (23.10 seconds).
Carter, now a senior and also part of Bethel Park's football team, also placed fifth in the WPIAL in the 100 meters at 11.23 seconds. He already has ran a 11.27 seconds this season, seventh-fastest reported time in WPIAL Class AAA.
The Black Hawks also have the ninth-ranked 400-meter relay team (45.42 seconds).
