Bentworth bouncing back with fine basketball season
Brad Everett has the story on the Bentworth boys' basketball team, which is running strong midway throught the season.
"Some WPIAL schools rarely get mentioned when it comes to athletic accomplishments, but a boys basketball team at a small school in Washington County is determined to create a buzz.
Bentworth is off to one of the best starts in school history. The Bearcats, who are 9-1 overall, are attempting to win the Section 3-A title for the second time in three seasons. They are 2-0 in section play, tied with Avella for first place.
The terrific start is a stark contrast to last season, when the Bearcats began 1-8.
"Right now, everybody is focused on winning," said coach Bob Kennedy, who is in his 10th season at the school in Bentleyville."
