Beaver Area hockey team keeping pace in division

The Beaver hockey team split two games in the past week to stay within two points of section-leading Blackhawk.

The Bobcats defeated Central Valley 4-3 last Thursday before falling 10-1 to 4-0 Wheeling Park Monday.

Beaver is now 3-2 on the season and tied with Harbor Creek (3-0) for second in Section 2 of the Open Division. Blackhawk is 4-1.

Kevin Orndorf, who had two assists in the win over Central Valley, leads the team with six points.

Anthony Suchanec leads the squad with four goals.

Of goaltenders that have played more than one game this season, Tara Treloar is currently in seventh in the Open Division with a .891 save percentage.
