Beaver Area football team's special teams to face test

Written by Sports Town on .

In the opening round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs, Beaver Area handled Valley with relative ease on offense and defense but a pair of special teams miscues made the final score deceptively close at 28-14. The special teams will take on even more emphasis this week as the Bobcats face Jeannette in the quarterfinals at Hampton.

Jeannette has had its own interesting season with special teams. The Jayhawks have won two games by a single extra point and lost their only game on a blocked punt against Washington.

Beaver, on the other hand, won its game against Blackhawk on a blocked punt late so special teams had been a plus this season for the Bobcats.

At that time, Beaver’s main weapon had been Darian “Bubba” Bradley but a knee injury has kept him from action in recent weeks. Anthony Keriotis gained 113 yards and scored twice in his absence last week.
