Track photos: Athletes from Beaver Area did well for states

Beaver Area's Brittany Shay ran a 2:19.48 in the 800-meters and shaw qualified for the PIAA state meet. The 4x400 relay team of Kailee Loose, Aubrey Hutchinson, Carly Koza, and Maureen McRae won the event with a time of 4:08.75. (Please note that these are the names listed in the Post-Gazette; the Beaver County times states that the 1600-meter relay team was Loose, Hutchinson, Shay, and Ruthe Neeley.)

Also, Neeley qualified individually in the 400-meter race. Shay, Rachel Duncan, Carly Koza, and Maureen McRae also qualified for the 3200-meter relay.

This is not an all-inclusive list for Beaver Area; last Thursday was quite a productive day for Bobcats' track athletes. However, the photos were taken at the WPIAL individual championship meet as the athletes were vying for the state-level opportunities.

The PIAA State meet will take place May 25-26 at Shippensburg.
