When Beaver Area distance coach Steve Goldcamp came down with the flu recently, one of his top priorities with the Bobcats track team was to let standout distance runner Josef DiPietrantonio know to keep his distance.
"I've been telling him to stay away," Goldcamp said on Sunday.
Injuries and sickness had kept DiPietrantonio from becoming an elite track performer the first three years of his high school career, so maintaining a clean bill of health has been instrumental in helping him finish his career with broken records, not broken bones.
"This is the first season I've been completely healthy," said DiPietrantonio. "It really makes a difference."
Has it ever.
