Alumni Update - Arkangelo James (Bethany)

Written by Sports Town on .

JamesArkangeloBethany sophomore forward Arkangelo James, a Baldwin High School graduate, was a third-team Division III All-Great Lakes selection, his second consecutive all-region honor from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The second-year striker finished second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference in goals per game (0.71) and points per game (1.65), as he helped lead the Bison to the PAC Tournament for the second straight season. Seven of his 12 scores came in conference matches, including the game-winner in overtime in a 1-0 victory at Thiel and a pair in Bethany’s 3-0 victory over Saint Vincent.

James, who was a second-team all-region choice last year, has 30 goals and 71 points in two seasons. James is the first Bison player to earn back-to-back All-Region accolades since Lavel Williams in 2004 and 2005.

“For Ark to become a member of the All-Region team two years in a row is a fantastic accomplishment,” Bethany coach Sean Regan said. “His talent and work ethic should give him a goal of making All-American within his next two years.”
