Ellwood City too much for Riverside baseball team
Chris Adamski has the details on Ellwood City's WPIAL Class AA baseball championship over Riverside:
"Ellwood City rolled through the regular season and into the WPIAL Class AA baseball semifinals on the strength of its dominating pitching and crisp defense.
At crunch time, however, the No. 1 seed Wolverines' arms and gloves seemed to abandon them.
Alarming? Yes. Catastrophic? Hardly.
Zach Mathias went 3 for 3 and Gregg Lynn and Anthony Carusone each had two hits and two RBIs to lead Ellwood City to a 9-7 win against Riverside in the WPIAL Class AA championship game Wednesday at Consol Energy Park."
