Written by Chris Adamski on .

Clint Davies and Tim Dikec are in a WPIAL tournament. Again.

Davies, a junior at Blackhawk, and Dikec, a senior from Beaver, each qualified for the WPIAL Class AA singles tournament last month, with Davies advancing to the quarterfinals. Today, the two embark on the WPIAL tournament for doubles.

Dikec and partner Connor Shallcross won the Section 2-AA tournament title last week. They earned the No. 4 seed at the WPIAL tournament and will play Thomas Jefferson's Keegan Shudy and Jake Mascaro in a first-round match 1 p.m. today at North Allegheny. The first three rounds of the Class AA tournament will be played there with the final and consolation match 2:30 p.m. Friday at Shady Side Academy. The top three finishers qualify for the PIAA tournament later this month.

Davies and partner Nick Kinger are the No. 9 seed and will play the Greensburg Salem duo of Parker Jorgensen and Tyler Brinton. Davies and Kinger, the section tournament runner-up, would face the No. 1 seed team of Sewickley Academy's Will Kleeman and Patrick Dellinger in the quarterfinals if they win in the first round.

The Riverside team of seniors Kevin Houghton and Dante Nardulli took third place in the section and will open up the WPIAL tournament as the No. 15 seed against No. 2 Tym Hoban and Alex Kietz, two juniors from Winchester Thurston.
