Selected North track teams, and comments at the close of Section competition
All Section meets must be completed by April 27 (that’s Friday). Some of these meets still have yet to happen. Nonetheless, here are a few North teams to congratulate for their 2012 performances as Section competition concludes.
Fox Chapel – with wins over Shaler and North Hills today, the Foxes could go to the playoffs.
North Allegheny – has posted many Section wins for both the boys and the girls. The girls had a rare loss to Shaler last week.
Quaker Valley – strong in Section 2-AA this season. The Quakers boys’ team beat Western Beaver 120-21 yesterday. Quaker Valley’s girls won 88-28.
Shady Side Academy – the girls are playoff bound, and the boys have been mixing it up with the other strong Section 7-AA programs, such as Riverview and Freeport
Freeport – the Freeport boys’ and girls’ teams beat both Shady Side teams.
WPIAL team semi-finals are to take place this coming Wednesday (May 2nd). Sports Town will provide more information about participating teams and sites after those teams and sites have been finalized.
