North teams attending the TSTCA Outdoor Championships at West Mifflin this Saturday (April 21)
This week’s invitational is called the TSTCA Outdoor Championship meet. Even as Section competition intensifies for track teams in the WPIAL and City league, many athletes still enjoy competing at invitationals. Here’s a list of North teams attending this weekend’s meet (according to Penn Track XC).
Butler
Shady Side Academy
This may seem like a short list, but the athletes on these two teams have good chances to do well amongst the tough competition on Saturday. For example, Butler’s girls’ 400-meter relay team won the event last week at its own invitational. Lexis Frost, Jasmine Bailey, Paige Allen, and Kennedy Evans ran the event in 50.79 seconds. Similarly, Butler’s Paige Rittelman won the high jump, recording a height of 5’6”.
While Shady Side did not attend Butler last week, the Indians are one of the teams to beat in Section 7-AA. At this point, the Indians have only suffered losses to Freeport (and also Deer Lakes, for the boys).
