City League Schedule Updates (April 4, 2013)

At this point, the only strictly-City League sports that have started up are tennis, volleyball, and track.

The track and field weekly developmental meets began on Tuesday.

Tennis began on Tuesday, April 2. Today, there were matches also – Brashear at Perry and Carrick at Westinghouse.

Volleyball within the City League is slated to start on April 9, but out-of-league competitions have already been going on. The Obama volleyball team lost in a sweep to Beaver County Christian yesterday, 3-0.

City League Baseball is set to begin on April 8, and City League softball is scheduled to begin on Tuesday (April 9).

City League Schedules are now available on the new PPS Athletics page

When last we posted an announcement about the Pittsburgh Public Schools Athletics page change, the schedules were not yet reposted to the new site.

However all PPS spring sports schedules are now available. Click on this link to download the sport schedule of your choice.

Note that for all former City League baseball and softball teams now competing as part of the WPIAL, schedules are available through Post-Gazette NOW.
