Important Saturday contest(s) in the City League (Sept. 7)
Here are a couple of events this Saturday that City League fans might enjoy:
Westinghouse’s football team is not taking the weekend off. The Bulldogs play pm the road at Wheeling Central Catholic tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.
In the world of cross country, the annual Red, White, and Blue Classic invitational is happening tomorrow at the Schenley Oval. The race will start at 8:30AM, drawing teams from all over the WPIAL and City League.
As for boys’ soccer, there are various contests. Obama plays Mars, Allderdice plays Greensburg Central Catholic, and Perry plays Montour. Check online for times, locations, and any weather-related adjustments.
Once again, Sports Town encourages City League fans to use these posts about Saturday contests to do two things:
- Get out to the games and support your student athletes, or
- Check back to Sports Town over the next couple of days for updates and/or quotes about City League Saturday games.
