Alumni Update - Monique Sims (California University of Pennsylvania)

SimsMonique_copySophomore Monique Sims, a Schenley High School graduate, will represent the California University of Pennsylvania women's track & field program at the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships from Friday-Sunday in Pueblo, Col.

Sims qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career after being selected to compete in the 100-meter dash. She enters the preliminaries tied for No. 17 in the country after breaking her own school record with a time of 11.85 seconds last weekend at the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny.

The PSAC Champion in the 100 meters, Sims is the first Cal U women's track & field qualifier for an NCAA Championships since the 2010 outdoor season.
