Bridgers hope last basketball season's playoff run will be launch pad this time

Nicholas Tolomeo talke about the Ambridge girls' basketball team and their desire to go even further in the playoffs this year.

"After a 20-win season and a trip to the WPIAL championship game, the Ambridge Area High School girls' basketball team used last season as a springboard into the offseason and into this season.

The Bridgers run from the WPIAL preliminary round all the way to the Palumbo Center was meaningful for the program for more than just obvious reasons.

In the WPIAL playoffs Ambridge had to run the Section 2-AAA gauntlet ... again. After seeing Hopewell, New Castle and Blackhawk twice each during the regular season, the Bridgers met all three teams in the WPIAL quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game."
