Ambridge board pulls contract offer from football coach Thatch

Written by Sports Town on .

Ambridge has lost three straight games since rallying to beat Keystone Oaks on opening night. It seems the losses have affected coach Neil Tkatch's job status.

Tkatch, whose contract expires at the end of the season, was offered an extension just before the opener. However, the school board voted last week to rescind that offer.

Ambridge is 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the WPIAL Class AAA Parkway Conference. Since the 38-30 victory over Keystone Oaks, Ambridge has been beaten 35-7 by New Castle, 42-0 by Montour and 27-14 by Elizabeth Forward.

Ambridge is 6-17 in three seasons under Tkatch, an alumnus of the school. The Bridgers host Parkway foe West Allegheny (2-2, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon for homecoming.
