City League boys’ tennis update: Singles results plus doubles schedule
The City League boys’ tennis postseason is continuing this afternoon as doubles championships are underway. The doubles championships will finish tomorrow.
As for the Singles tournament, it wrapped on Tuesday after being moved to the Pittsburgh Indoor facility in East Liberty.
In the singles semifinal matches, Allderdice’s Adam Somers defeated his teammate Nik Vidic. The scores were 6-1, 3-6, and 6-3. In the other semifinal match Allderdice’s Jesse Mendelson defeated his teammate Jesse Irwin in a sweep: 6-4, 6-3.
Likewise, it was Allderdice’s Mendelson and Somers in the finals. Mendelson won 7-5, 7-6 (4).
The City League Doubles Championships will continue tomorrow at 1pm, and they are scheduled to take place at Schenley Park. Updates on the doubles tournament will be posted as information becomes available.
The PIAA Team tennis tournament is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 15.
