Girls Volleyball: WPIAL Class AAA Championship Preview Capsule
#3 Fox Chapel vs. #4 Mt. Lebanon at Chartiers Valley, 6:30 p.m.
Mt. Lebanon won the Section 5-AAA title and earned its third title berth in six years. The Blue Devils swept Plum 3-0 in the first round, posted a 3-2 win against No. 5 Pine-Richland in the quarterfinals, then swept No. 1 seed Oakland Catholic 3-0 in the semifinals. Mt. Lebanon has won five WPIAL titles, with it's last coming in 2009.
Fox Chapel tied for second place in Section 3-AAA and advanced to the title match for the first time in school history. The Foxes posted a 3-0 sweep of Canon-McMillan in the first round, a 3-0 sweep of Upper St. Clair in the quarterfinals, and a 3-2 win against No. 2 North Allegheny in the semifinals.
