The boys from Aliquippa were unstoppable as they set the WPIAL Class AA Individual Championship meet record. They were running the 4x100-meter relay; an event they'd perfected all season. But last Thursday Shaquere McBride, Dravon Henry, Hassan Thompson, and Kaylan Kenney carried the baton a quarter mile in 42.28 seconds. That's faster than most of us can pick a radio station to drive a quarter mile to get a heavily-sugared drink from the Sheetz.
This photo was taken just as Kenney obliterated the finish line. At that time, he mentioned something to the effect that the race had felt good. Kenney and his team had enjoyed every one of those 42.28 seconds. It was hard not to catch their energy!
