Baseball: Hempfield's DiAndreth twins pick colleges

Written by Brad Everett on .

What a week it was for the DiAndreth twins, standout baseball players at Hempfield.

Last Tuesday, Isaiah made his college decision and, three days later, Nick did the same.

They may have a lot in common, but one similarity won't be where they will be attending college. Isaiah verbally committed to Seton Hill, while Nick picked IUP.

The DiAndreths are seniors-to-be at Hempfield and helped the Spartans go 12-9 and reach the WPIAL Class 6A playoffs this past season. Isaiah started at shortstop and was named to the all-section team. Nick was a starting outfielder and also saw time as a pitcher. Both ranked among the team's top hitters.

And while they will be attending different colleges, they will at times share the same field: Seton Hill and IUP compete in the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference).

The DiAndreths also play for the Hempfield football team.
