Hempfield basketball team beat Penn-Trafford with fast breaks and pressure

“We like the fast break and we think we have some depth,” said  Hempfield head coach Jim Nesser. “Like, to us, our depth is with our pressure offense and pressure defense.”

The Spartans (8-3, 3-1) had four scorers in the double-digits on Friday against Penn-Trafford: Nate Irwin (12 points), Tyler Handlan (12), Kason Harrell (12), and Mike Nauman (11). Prior to games, the Hempfield team watches video together examining their own tendancies as much as the opponent’s

“We play man-to-man defense – we’ll watch what the other teams offensive sets or plays look like to try to take some of their team tendencies away and to take their individual tendencies away,” said Nesser.

Hempfield plays next this Friday at Kiski Area.
