Ali Collins helped Hampton reach the WPIAL semifinals her junior season and hopes to get the Talbots even deeper into the playoffs her senior season.
After that, Collins is headed to play at Seton Hill.
Collins, a 5-foot-7 guard, verbally committed to Seton Hill this week. The Griffins offered her a scholarship in May. Collins averaged 15 points per game as a junior at Hampton, which went 23-4 and advanced to the WPIAL Class 5A semifinals and the second round of the PIAA playoffs.
Collins, who also plays for the Western Pa. Bruins AAU program, will become a three-year starter this upcoming season. She lettered as a freshman. As a sophomore, Collins averaged 13.2 points a game and was named all-section.
Hampton should be very good again in 2017-18. Three starters graduated, but Collins and fellow senior guard Laryn Edwards give the Talbots an excellent backcourt duo. Edwards was offered by Division I Loyola (Maryland) last week.
