Perhac leads Gateway hockey team to two big wins
Gateway lost to Plum Monday, but the Gators did get two crucial wins last week to help its playoff chances.
Gateway beat Montour and Pine-Richland, each by the score of 3-1.
The win over the winless Spartans was expected, but the victory over Pine-Richland, who was ranked No. 2 at the time, was a surprise.
The Rams outshot Gateway, 44-16, but Tyler Perhac stopped 43 shots to help the Gators pull off the upset.
Perhac, who was selected to play in Sunday’s Class AA All-Star game, stopped 27-of-28 shots in the win over Montour.
Offensively, Camden Cacolice has scored a goal in three straight games and six of his past seven.
