Alumni Update: Josh Staniscia (Washington & Jefferson)

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- For the third consecutive year, Washington & Jefferson College senior outfielderstaniscia WJ Josh Staniscia was selected to's First Team All-Mideast Region Team. Staniscia was joined on the all-region team by freshman designated hitter/outfielder Nick Vento (2nd team) and senior relief pitcher Kyle McLain (3rd team).

Staniscia, a Franklin Regional graduate, finished his season leading all NCAA Division III active players with a school-record 251 career base hits. He notched a school-record 18 career triples which ranked 11th among all NCAA players in all divisions over the past four seasons.

Staniscia posted a .404 batting average (84th in NCAA Division III this spring) with 44 runs batted in. He scored 39 times and had 17 extra-base hits, including 11 doubles and five triples. Staniscia was successful on 15-of-17 stolen base attempts and did not commit an error in center field in 97 chances.

In 353 career chances in the outfield, Staniscia made just one error (during freshman season). He had four assists and a .997 fielding percentage.
