Fox Chapel football player picks Pitt

Written by Brad Everett on .

The Pitt football team has seen its list of Class of 2014 commitments skyrocket this week.

The Panthers received three verbal commitments on Thursday alone, one of them coming from a Fox Chapel linebacker.

Quintin Wirginis (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) chose Pitt over offers from Temple, Robert Morris and VMI.

Wirginis is one of 10 seniors to have already chosen Pitt. Among them are fellow WPIAL players Mike Grimm of Bethel Park and Dennis Briggs of Shady Side Academy.

Pitt currently has one Fox Chapel graduate on its roster. Adam Bisnowaty is a redshirt freshman who is expected to battle for a starting spot at offensive tackle.
