Elizabeth Forward softball team experienced and hungry

Written by Nick Tolomeo on .

Elizabeth Forward ended last season on a two-game losing streak. With the lineup the Warriors return this year it would be hard to imagine the Warriors enduring a losing streak of any kind.

Elizabeth Forward reached the WPIAL final where it lost 7-0 to Montour. Four days later it lost 3-2 in the PIAA playoffs to District 10 Fort LeBoeuf.

Six starters return from that team including senior pitcher Portia McBride.

After ending last year on a losing streak, the Warriors have started this year on a winning streak. Escaping the winter weather in town, the team traveled to Myrtle Beach to take part in the Ripken Experience.

Elizabeth Forward swept the competition that featured Burgettstown, Penn Charter and St. John Villa Academy out of New York. It outscored its three opponents 24-3.
