Alumni Update - Haley Yenchik (Penn State-Behrend)

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend women's track and field athlete, Haley Yenchik, earned Eastern Collegiate AthleticYenchik PSUB Conference (ECAC) Division III North field Athlete of the Week, announced Wednesday.

Yenchik, a Canon-McMillan graduate, competed at the Mount Union John Homon Open where she flew over 11 feet for the second time this outdoor season in the pole vault and also triple jumped 10.16 meters (33'4").

She leads the Colonial States Athletic Conference in both events. She also led the women's 4x100-meter relay to a win in 49.40 and sprinted to season-best times in the 100 meters and 200 meters respectively.

Alumni Update - Mitchell Patterson (Thiel)

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Freshman Mitchell Patterson of the Thiel College men's volleyball team was namedPatterson Thiel Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Patterson and the Tomcats went 3-0 last week with wins over Hilbert College, Cairn University, and Rutgers-Newark.

Patterson, a Canon-McMillan graduate, averaged 4.8 kills per set with 54.5 total points on the week and capped the season off with a career-high 26 kills in the win over Rutgers-Newark.

Alumni Update - Jared Beach (Gannon)

The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team rallied from an 8-4 deficit in the opener for a 10-8 victory and then out-pitchedBeach Gannon Gannon 3-2 in the nightcap to sweep a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader at Point Stadium in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.


In game two, redshirt freshman Jared Beach, a Canon-McMillan graduate, had two of the hits in the clean-up role.

Alumni Update - Kevin Forrester (Thiel)

Kevin Forrester tossed a complete game shutout in last Wednesday’s 3-0 game one win over Geneva, allowing just two hits while fanningForrester Thiel eight.

He also earned a save in Saturday’s 3-1 game one victory over Grove City.

The Canon-McMillan graduate was named PAC Pitcher of the Week.

Alumni Update - Frank Fortunato (Washington & Jefferson)

Frank Fortunato hit safely in all five games last week for W&J to extend his current streak to seven straight. He hadFortunato WJ four multi-RBI games, driving in 11 total runs to go along with a .467 average (7-for-15).

He also posted an impressive 1.633 on-base plus slugging percentage. Fortunato went 5-for-10 with two home runs, a double, nine RBIs and three runs scored in W&J’s three-game swept of Waynesburg over the weekend.

The Canon-McMillan graduate was named PAC Hitter of the Week.
