Thiel senior Nick Rossmiller was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Rossmiller, a Butler graduate, made one start and one relief appearance. He locked down a 3-2 win at Waynesburg in his first outing. After watching a two-on, nobody out situation develop in the bottom of the ninth, Rossmiller was summoned from his spot at first base to close it out for the Tomcats. Rossmiller retired both batters he faced and saw a runner caught stealing in securing his first collegiate save.
He returned to the mound to start against Grove City, throwing 111 pitches over eight solid innings to pick up his seventh win of the season. The righty allowed just one earned run on seven hits while striking out four.
His earned run average for the week was 1.00, lowering his season ERA to 2.63.
