After starting the season 5-3, the Butler hockey team has hit a snag, losing four of five.

But the recent downturn in the team’s play didn’t stop four Tornadoes from being chosen to the Class AAA Northeast Conference All-Star team.

Forwards Tanner Gilliland and Troy Double and goaltenders Logan Rothbauer and Clay Bachman were selected to play in the Feb. 10 game at RMU Island Sports Center.

Gilliland leads the team in goals (14), assists (15) and points (29). Double is tied for the team lead in goals (14), leads the team in power-play goals (5) and is second in points (20).

In net, Rothbauer is 3-4 with a 3.72 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. Bachman is 3-3 with a 3.67 goals-against average and .903 save percentage.

In addition, Butler head coach Mike Guentner will be the head coach of the Northeast squad.
