Hockey: Beaver looking to get back to its winning ways

Written by Keith Barnes on .

For a while it seemed Beaver wouldn't have any difficulty making the transition from Division 2 to Class 1A.

After all, the Bobcats opened the season 3-2-0 and were in contention for first place in the West Division.

That was then, this is now.

Beaver (3-5-0) has lost its last three games to teams over .500 and contending for their respective division titles in Baldwin, Montour and Thomas Jefferson and has been outscored 21-10 in that time. Forward Donald Morgan is the leading scorer for the Bobcats with six goals and 13 points and has had a hand in nearly one-third of the team's 32 goals.

Hockey: Beaver experiences highs and lows

Written by Keith Barnes on .

Last week, Beaver pulled off a big win against a very tough Thomas Jefferson squad.

But the inconsistencies continued for the Bobcats as they followed that up with a 2-1 loss to Baldwin.

Heading into the Thanksgiving break, Beaver (3-3-0) is right in the middle of the pack in the 1A West Division, but considering how the division is in flux they are only four points out of first place and with a game-in-hand on Chartiers Valley.

Beaver has not had the scoring punch it has in recent years, but there's still plenty of pop as Donald Morgan is leading the team with six assists and nine points, while newcomer Michael Dioguardi is leading the team with six goals including a hat trick against Wheeling Park.
