Craig Meyer's West High School Basketball Notebook (Dec. 4, 2014)

Here's this week's edition of Craig Meyer's West Basketball Notebook.

"The gyms at Western Pennsylvania high schools don't hold the same mystique that the region's football fields do on Friday nights in the fall. But if the past decade has proven anything, it's that basketball in the Pittsburgh area is an undervalued asset, one that churns out next-level talent despite not receiving the same level of attention as football.

As the calendar turns to December and another season of WPIAL basketball is set to begin, it gives people who follow the game a chance to figure out what the dominant themes of the next several months will be.

For many, there are questions that linger in their minds, queries that likely won't get answered until February at the earliest."
