Two of the hottest teams in Class AAA meet Friday when Thomas Jefferson travels to Elizabeth forward for an important Section 4 contest.

Thomas Jefferson (10-4, 6-0) is the section leader and has won five of its past six games. Elizabeth Forward (10-6, 4-3), which is in third place behind West Mifflin, has won seven games in a row.

On Dec. 21, Thomas Jefferson defeated Elizabeth Forward, 73-62. Chase Winovich scored 18 points for the Jaguars, while JaQuan Davidson led the Warriors with 30 points.

The loss marked the middle game of a five-game losing streak for the Warriors, who have not lost this calendar year. Among their recent wins was a 66-56 triumph against Steel Valley last Friday. Davidson, who leads all South area players with 23.9 points per game, paced the Warriors in that game with 33 points.

Thomas Jefferson had won five games in a row prior to dropping a non-section game to Baldwin, 62-50, last Wednesday. Joe Carroll averages 16 points per game to lead the Jaguars. During their win streak, the Jaguars surrendered more than 47 points just once.
