Here are some of the top games of the week.
Monday – Elizabeth Forward at West Mifflin, 7:30 p.m. – Led by senior Dana Buck, Elizabeth Forward (14-1, 6-0) has won 11 games in a row to vault into first place in Class AAA Section 4. West Mifflin (6-7, 5-1) doesn’t have a glittering overall record, but the Titans, led by junior Taylor Thomas, can grab a share of the section lead with a win against the Warriors in what will be the first meeting of the season between the two.
Saturday – Cumberland Valley at Mt. Lebanon, 3:30 p.m. – This should serve as a solid non-section test for Mt. Lebanon (14-2), which is on a seven-game winning streak. Cumberland Valley (13-2), located in Mechanicsburg, appears to be one of the stronger Class AAAA teams in the eastern part of the state. Mt. Lebanon has already defeated eastern schools Archbishop Wood and Central Dauphin. The Blue Devils’ only losses were to Seton-LaSalle and Bethel Park.
