Quaker Valley, Mars to meet again for hockey championship
When Quaker Valley (24-0) and Mars (19-3-1) met last season in the PIHL Class A Penguins Cup championship game, it was the Quakers who were trying to stop a Planets’ streak.
On Wednesday, the roles will be reversed.
Quaker Valley defeated Mars, 4-2, to win the Cup title last season, stopping the Planets run of three straight championships.
Now Mars will try end Quaker Valley’s 45-game unbeaten streak, a run that dates back to 2011.
The last loss for Quaker Valley was Nov. 3, 2011, a 4-3 setback against, of course, the Planets.
Quaker Valley also beat Mars in the 2008 Penguins Cup final.
This season, the Quakers beat Mars, 5-2 and 4-0.
