Here are some of the top games of the week.

Tuesday – North Catholic at Vincentian, 7:30 p.m. – Vincentian’s last home loss against a WPIAL team came on Dec. 16, 2011 against North Catholic. However, Vincentian won at North Catholic, 80-68, earlier this month, and can pretty much lock up the Class A Section 2 title by beating the Trojans again. Vincentian’s Ryan Wolf had 29 points in the first matchup and is among the top scorers in the North Sports Town area. North Catholic is riding a three-game winning streak, the most recent win coming against Aquinas Academy, 79-38, last Thursday.

Friday – Gateway at Fox Chapel, 7:30 p.m. – The playoff picture in Class AAAA Section 2 is becoming clear – Gateway, Fox Chapel, McKeesport and Central Catholic will more than likely qualify for the postseason. However, the race for the section championship is still a free-for-all. Gateway (11-2, 8-1) overcame 23 turnovers to edge Fox Chapel (13-4, 8-2), 40-38, three weeks ago. The Gators most recently lost to Upper St. Clair, 59-56, Saturday. The Foxes have won three straight, all of them section triumphs.
