Girls Soccer: Two local sophomores pick Kent State

Eva Frankovic and Callie Cunningham still have three years remaining in high school, but the two promising WPIAL girls soccer players have already decided where they will be attending college.

It's the same school, too.

Norwin's Frankovic and Connellsville's Cunningham recently verbally committed to Kent State. The rising sophomores announced their decisions on Twitter.

"excited to announce i will be furthering my academic and athletic career at Kent State! #goflashes" -- @calliecunningh3 (June 26)

"I'm proud to say that I'm pursuing my athletic and academic career at Kent State University!" -- @evafrankovic (July 17)

It won't be the first time the two are teammates. They compete on the same club team, Century V 02G Elite.

Frankovic helped Norwin go 21-1-1 and win the WPIAL Class 4A championship her freshman season. Cunningham and Connellsville finished 5-9-1.
