Baseball: City League update (April 19)

Written by Brad Everett on .

It's been a disappointing season thus far for City League baseball teams.

The six teams - four of which compete in the WPIAL - are a combined 6-22. Of those wins, two have come against other City League teams.

Allderdice was a WPIAL playoff team just two years ago and won six games last season, but the Dragons are still seeking their first win. They are 0-7 overall and 0-5 in Class 6A Section 3. Scoring runs has been a major problem as they have scored only six runs in their five section games.

Carrick and Brashear are also seeking their first section wins. Carrick (2-4) and Brashear (2-5) are winless in 5A Section 2.

Softball: City League update (April 19)

Written by Brad Everett on .

The three City League softball teams playing in the WPIAL are badly in need of a win.

When they get one, it will actually be their first of the season.

It's been a dreadful spring for Brashear, Allderdice and Carrick. The three are a combined 0-13 overall, with each of those games coming in section play. Brashear competes in Class 6A Section 1, Allderdice in 6A Section 2, and Carrick in 4A Section 2.

None of the teams have been competitive. Brashear has been outscored, 109-6, Allderdice has been outscored, 30-0, and Carrick has been outscored, 73-2.
