Brad Everett reports that Schenley graduates DeJuan Blair, D.J. Kennedy and DeAndre Kane will be teaming up for a big summer tournament.

"It's been nearly a decade since Schenley High School closed its doors.

One of its final proud moments was the state title delivered in 2007 by its boys basketball team, a group led by a couple of kids from the Hill District who went on to college stardom and professional careers.

It only makes sense that the three get together this summer for a 10-year reunion, but this gathering will hardly be just a walk down memory lane — it will be a run toward a $2 million prize.

The Basketball Tournament tips off Saturday as 64 teams — many filled with former college players and some with current and past professional players — will take aim at the winner-take-all payday. The games will all be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks and the championship will be played Aug. 3 in Baltimore."
