Mike White covered Saturday's City League track and field championships.

"After she ran her final race and received her final medal, Raven Haston walked off the track in black slippers. Her track shoes were probably still smoking.

Haston is a sophomore at Obama Academy and already has become one of the fastest sprinters in the City League in a number of years. She blew by the competition Saturday at City League track championships — again.

For the second year in a row, Haston won he 100- and 200-meter dashes at old Oliver High School on the North Side. And she really didn't have to try hard to do it.

There isn't much competition for Haston in the City. She basically coasted to the titles, winning the 100 in 12.82 seconds and the 200 in 26.52. She was almost 3 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the 200."
