The Post-Gazette today published its girls basketball scoring leaders for the first time this season, and several City League players made the cut.

Topping the list of city scorers was Allderdice's Sierra Fordham, who was averaging 20.4 points per game through games played Jan. 7. Fordham, a senior guard, was the City League Player of the Year last season when she averaged 20.9 points.

Following Fordham among City League scorers this season are Carrick's Chardonnay Littlejohn and Westinghouse's Brittany Jackson. Littlejohn, a junior guard, is averaging 16.5 points per game. Jackson, a senior guard-forward, has netted 15 points per game.

City League teams began league play today. Defending champion Westinghouse is the favorite to win the league championship. The other prominent team is Allderdice, which had won the previous two titles.
