Track: Allderdice distance standout shines once again

The more Allderdice's Amadou Diallo runs this spring, the more he wins.

Diallo continued his excellent season by winning two events and claiming boys track MVP honors at the Warrior Classic held last Saturday at Central Valley.

Diallo's chief events are the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, and he rolled to first-place finishes in both of them. The senior ran a 4:33.50 in the 1,600, which beat runner-up Billy Lott of Ellwood City by more than eight seconds. Diallo won even more comfortably in the 3,200. His time of 9:56.26 topped a field that included Allderdice teammate Ethan Hermann, the runner-up who crossed the finish line 26 seconds later.

A week earlier, Diallo claimed the 3,200 title at the South Hills Classic. He is coming off a junior season that saw him win City League titles in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in addition to helping the Dragons' 1,600 relay team take first place.
