Allderdice's Amadou Diallo is the best distance runner in the City League.
He showed again last Saturday that he's pretty good against other competition, as well.
Diallo won the 3,200-meter run at the South Hills Classic. The event was held at Baldwin and included more than a dozen WPIAL teams, along with some teams from District 10 and District 9.
Diallo claimed the gold medal after running a time of 9:46.37. Runner-up Shaun Hay of Winchester Thurston finished in 9:50.21. Baldwin's Casey Conboy was third with a time of 10:03.04. Diallo also helped the Allderdice 3,200 relay team to a fifth-place finish (8.47.10). Jonah Berger, Reise Brooks and Isaiah Freeman were on that team.
Brooks and teammate Dorian Hardy fared well in the jumping competitions. Brooks tied for fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 8 1/2 inches. Hardy placed eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-2.
Kyley Coleman led the Allderdice girls with a fourth-place finish in the 100 (13.95). Keira Coleman finished 10th in the 200 (29.15). Keira Coleman, Nautica Burwell, Nyah Eberhardt and Jasmynie Miller helped the 400 relay team place fourth (53.83). Noelle DiSilvio finished 10th in the 1,600 (5:55.40).
