Four of the top head college wrestling coaches in the country will appear this week at the Young Guns Summer Heat Camp, which will be held Aug. 4-9 at Franklin Regional High School.
Penn State's Cael Sanderson, Iowa's Tom Brands, Oklahoma State's John Smith, and Lehigh's Pat Santoro are the four head coaches who will serve as clinician.
Sanderson has led the Nittany Lions to four consecutive NCAA Division I titles. Santoro is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Sanderson, Smith, and Brands all won Olympic titles during their careers.
Two of the top assistant coaches in the country will also serve as clinicians during the 6-day camp - Illinois assistant Mark Perry and Oklahoma assistant Jared Strayer.
Each clinician will focus on their own specialty. This camp is the perfect example of "champions training champions". Some of the best college coaches and wrestlers will share there expertise and help each kid to continue to improve their wrestling skills.
The Camp is sponsored by the Young Guns Wrestling Club, which was voted the No. 1 club in the country by FloWrestling.
There will be two sessions each day, the first from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., and the second from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be held from 11:30 am. until 12:30 p.m. Campers must bring their own lunch.
Campers who have not registered can do so Aug. 4 at 9:15 a.m. The cost for pre-registered campers is $270. Late registration is $320.
