Cameron Johnson and Ryan Luther were two of the top players in the WPIAL this past season.
Now teammates at Pitt, the two are showing this summer that they could be key players for the Panthers down the road.
Johnson, an Our Lady of Sacred Heart grad, and Luther, a Hampton grad, have been performing well in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro-Am League at Montour High School.
Johnson, a 6-foot-7 guard, is averaging 19 points per game. Luther, a 6-foot-8 forward, is averaging 14 points per game. Johnson has scored 24 points twice in four games. Luther high has been 22 points.
Luther was a Post-Gazette Fabulous 5 selection his senior season when he averaged 21.8 points per game and helped Hampton reach the WPIAL final for the third season in a row. Johnson was second in the WPIAL in scoring with 26.9 points per game. Luther was named Class AAAA first-team all-state and Johnson was picked Class A second-team all-state.
