BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Junior Summer Hill (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) repeated as the league champion in theFriend CalU 1,500-meter run for her second individual victory of the weekend and was named Outstanding Track Athlete during the final day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Saturday.


Fellow junior Julie Friend also claimed her second league victory of the weekend, as she won the 5,000-meter run on Saturday. She registered a time of 16:58.58 to earn the victory by over 17.5 seconds after winning the 10,000-meter run on Thursday night.


Friend, a Uniontown graduate, previously earned the league title in the 5,000 meters as a freshman in 2014 before finishing as the runner-up last season.

The Vulcans finished ninth in the team standings at the event with 49 points. Shippensburg claimed its eighth-straight league title after recording 172 points. Slippery Rock placed second with 115 points and host Bloomsburg ranked third with 108 points.
