No. 1 Seneca Valley (16-2-1) vs. No. 12 Upper St. Clair (11-5-2) - The top-seeded Raiders shutout Canon-McMillan 2-0 in the WPIAL quarterfinals to get to Monday night's WPIAL Class AAA semifinal matchup. The road for Upper St. Clair was a little more difficult. The Panthers sprung upsets over No. 5 Baldwin and No. 4 Fox Chapel to get back to the semifinals after a one-year hiatus after winning the WPIAL gold in 2011. Seneca Valley, a WPIAL runner-up a year ago, won a share of the Section 2 title this season. The Raiders got goals by Sarah Anderson and Alicia Hart in a 2-0 win over No. 9 Canon-McMillan in the WPIAL quarterfinals. The shutout was the ninth this season by Seneca Valley. Upper St. Clair advanced to the semifinals thanks to goals from Olivia Belack and Emma Hasco in a 2-1 win against Fox Chapel. The WPIAL semifinal matchup is a rematch of a WPIAL quarterfinal meeting last season won 2-1 by Seneca Valley. The Raiders are making their fourth WPIAL semifinal appearance in six years.
