"Jeff Christy played center in the NFL for 10 seasons and made the Pro Bowl three times. But at Freeport High School, he was a standout fullback, linebacker, punter and kicker.

As a senior in 1985, Christy had a tremendous season, scoring 24 touchdowns in the regular season, kicking five field goals and leading the WPIAL in scoring with 192 points. He helped Freeport to a 9-2 record and the WPIAL Class AA semifinals before the Yellowjackets lost against Riverside.

Christy finished his career with a number of school records and rushed for 2,842 career yards. He was an outstanding athlete. He played baseball as a freshman and sophomore at Freeport before he tried track and field. He set a WPIAL Class AA championship meet record in the shot put."
