The WPIAL playoff field has been completed in Class AA. Fifteen teams have qualified, and maybe two more. The WPIAL Baseball Steering Committee will meet Thursday to determine the brackets.

Section 1-AA - Quaker Valley (13-0) has clinched the section title and at 16-0 overall is the only unbeaten team in the Class AA bracket. New Brighton (11-3) placed second. Seton-LaSalle (7-5) has qualified, but still has games remaining today against Avonworth, and tomorrow against Quaker Valley. If Seton-LaSalle loses both, South Side Beaver (7-7) would tie for third place and qualify.

Section 2-AA - Brownsville (10-4) and Washington (10-4) tied for the section title, but Washington is designated as the top seed due to its two wins over Brownsville. Bentworth (9-5) and Chartiers-Houston (9-5) tied for second, but both qualify after splitting their section games.

Section 3-AA - Deer Lakes (12-0) went unbeaten in the section. Freeport (9-3) has also qualified. Burrell (6-5) can qualify with a win today against West Shamokin (1-10). If Burrell loses, Ford City (7-5) will qualify. If Burrell and Ford City tie, Burrell qualifies with its two wins over Ford City.

Section 4-AA - Steel Valley (10-2) won the section title. Greensburg C.C. (9-3) and Shady Side Academy (9-3) tied for second place and split their section encounters.

Section 5-AA - Riverside (12-2), Beaver (11-2), and Laurel (9-4) have qualified. Beaver can tie for first place with a win today against Ellwood City (4-9).
