Grove City’s Daniel Jaskowak won the boys’ 1600-meter race at the South Hills Classic today. His time was 4:23.27. And while Grove City is not a Sports Town school per se, Jaskowak is very important to a lot of Sports Town runners. Why? Because he gives them a run for their money.
You can see in the video how Jaskowak leads the whole race, but the WPIAL runners flip-flop behind him. In the end it went: Jaskowak, Allderdice’s Ean DiSilvio (4:26.60), Gateway’s Tyler Palenchak (4:28.18), Vincentian’s Ryan Archer (4:28.72), and then North Allegheny’s Cordon Louco (4:29.12).
Throughout cross country season as well as track season, Jaskowak is often named by WPIAL runners as key competition in invitational meets. At this point in the season, he’s still got a few numbers.
The video also shows other top WPIAL racers (Vincentian’s Andrew and USC’s James Smith) as they cross the finish line.
