Written by Nick Tolomeo on .

If the West Allegheny Christmas Invitational is a preview of the WPIAL Class AA finals then you can say the Big Six meet is a preview of the PIAA Class AA finals. This year the much-anticipated Big Six meet will be hosted by York High School on Saturday.

South Fayette and West Allegheny will represent the WPIALs at the event. The South Fayette girls appear to be the favortie to win the WPIAL and the West Allegheny girls are two-time WPIAL champions.

“South Fayette looks like they’re the team to beat (in the WPIAL),” West Allegheny coach Bob Miller said. “Our team is developing and coming along.”

Other top programs at the event include Eastern Pennsylvania powers Boiling Springs and Scranton Prep.
